We took the Star Ferry to meet Kim’s friend Chris for yum cha breakfast. He took us to a tall-ish round building with a revolving restaurant at the top. While the restaurant we went to wasn’t in the top revolving portion, it still offered a spectacular view up at about level 60. They did very good hakau and siumai with prawns on top.
Back in Kowloon by ferry we tried looking for phones again. One shop offered a good price but later said that they had no stock, possibly because he had misquoted.
A bit later Kim found a wholesaler in the street behind and made a purchase for two identical Sony Ericsson units.
We returned to our room at 1430 to pack and check-out. We were on the roadside waiting for the shuttlebus to the train station at 1520. It was only a 5 min wait for the service that came round every twenty minutes.
At the station we were able to check-in at the city terminal before taking the train to the airport for the 1840 departure to Auckland. Even though the flight had been overbooked by 40 passengers there were some spare seats in the end. But the overbooking had not concerned us as we had firm tickets on a staff package deal.
We were finally homeward bound when we walked onto the Air New Zealand B767, after a great adventure in Tibet and Yunnan. Kim had some colleagues on board who looked after us well.
