Leaving Spain
Our Spanish adventure finishes today and we head back to London and then to Downham Market in Norfolk. We have part of the morning free before our 1300 flight to London Heathrow.
We settled our bill with the hostal before breakfast. They accept cash or card, so I thought I’d check if they would accept a mix so we could finish our Euros and put the balance on card. Rather strangely, that flicked a switch in the lady’s mind and she suddenly turned a little grumpy. Ah well, we put it all on card then.
Our usual Museo de Jamon was closed, so we had breakfast at Pans & Company. We picked up our bags and proceeded to the airport by metro. At Goya station, we got on in the wrong direction, adding an extra 20 mins to our travel.
It was a long walk at the airport station to Terminal 1. Despite the hiccups, we were at check-in 1h30 prior to the flight.
We boarded a very worn Iberia A321. Configuration changes (possibly between Business and Economy classes) and a slot issue in London saw us leaving about 30 mins late at 1330. We experienced a large stomach-churning drop soon after take-off but it was otherwise an uneventful flight.
Back in England
It was a slow tube ride with 24 stops from London Heathrow to King’s Cross taking about an hour. We had about 30 mins in between arriving there and taking the train to Downham Market. After about 1h15 we had arrived at Downham Market where my brother-in-law Mike picked us up.
My sis is battling cancer. She was home preparing dinner. She looked well apart from very short hair.
Kim’s Mum had called on the phone and mentioned that they were nearby looking for a B&B but they were rather expensive. Sis misunderstood and thought they were coming to stay and set up a bed for them.
We’re here for a four-night stay and will explore the surrounding areas.
