Again, I didn’t sleep a wink on the flight from Los Angeles to London. After landing around 1100, we had to wait about 45 mins for a Gulf Air A330 to vacate our allocated gate. That was the last thing we needed after about 24h in a plane.
We collected our rental car from Avis. We were assigned a black 4-door Fiat Punto, despite being told at the counter that all cars in the chosen category were all 2-door.
We hit the road around 1315 to arrive at my sister’s house in Downham Market around 1530. We did have to make a short stop to buy some chocolates etc to boost my sugar levels.
My sister looked better than when we saw her last eight months ago. But fact is, she is in a worse state. She has opted against further chemotherapy.
Mum and step-dad are here already. They made us a simple light meal of noodle soup with vegetables. Because they were using the only room that could accommodate us, we were being put up at the house of a friend, Wendy. We headed there around 1800.
Wendy had stayed with us in Auckland before. She had cut her hand and was appeared stressed doing her work marking school papers with the help of her mother. We had a quick cuppa and retired early.
