It was very windy and cloudy when we woke. It made us feel lazy. After another simple breakfast of muesli and tea, we took the tram and metro to town, using a different route.
First stop was the Historical Museum of Warsaw in the old town. Not all exhibits had captions in English so we skipped through some sections quickly. The 20 min video offered less insight into Warsaw’s reconstruction that we had hoped.

We stopped for a Turkish lunch at a place called Ugarit, which suggests it is actually Syrian. We continued by bus to Wilanow Palace in the south. We had a cuppa at McDonald’s first. It was crowded probably from a children’s party. Then there were also teenagers, many of whom were very smoochy. A lot more so that what we’re used to in New Zealand for teenagers, or in public by people of any age.
At Wilanow, we took a quick walk around the park as the weather was on-and-off spitting.
We bused halfway back to Lazienki Palace. The psycho weather had now turned sunny and it was stifling in the bus.
We enjoyed an interesting photo exhibition along the palace’s fence. The weather turned again and we didn’t bother entering the palace grounds or the building. No doubt, it would have been more of the same.
Back in our apartment, we polished off the cherries which we had bought. We returned to Maxxim’s for another Mexican dinner. The weather had worsened to howling winds and pouring rain.
