Arriving at Singapore, Kim helped his parents into a taxi to get to their hotel, Perak Lodge. We have a two night stopover in Singapore which Kim and I will spend at my step-dad’s place.
Mum and step-dad had come to pick us up at the airport. But being a large airport, we had a little search around the various entrances before we found each other.
We noticed that Changi Airport Terminal 2 was being progressively done up. It was already in tip-top condition maintenance-wise. In terms of aesthetics and functionality it was already better than most airports around the world. But nope, this isn’t good enough for Singapore and they are replacing the “marble” look with glitzy glass and steel. While we’re paying for the improvements through the departure taxes, I’m sure part of it is footed by the Singaporean tax payer.
