Kim and I managed to wake up at 0900 despite the unfavourable time change. We spent the day shopping at a couple of IT malls in Singapore and managed to get ourselves a Palm Pilot each. Normally, tech products in Singapore are cheaper than in New Zealand but with the exchange rate at present, it was very cheap.
Late in the afternoon, Kim went to the Perak Lodge so that he could continue to the airport with his parents for their journey back to Auckland together, on standby tickets.
The flight was full but there was a fair chance of getting on. But alas, in the end, most passengers showed up. Kim managed to get on, but had to sit in the jump seat in the flight deck.
But his parents didn’t get on. Perhaps you could say they got bumped, but on standby, you weren’t really on in this first place. They returned to the Perak Lodge for another overnight.
