We returned to the hotel with bread, cheese, drinks and papaya. It was a day for chilling. As we had been travelling on Air New Zealand standby tickets, we had to allow some buffer days in case the flights were full. We relaxed and swam and had a light lunch of a beautiful camembert and ham sandwich. The hotel had two pools and an artificial lagoon (lagoonarium) with fish in it.
We had drinks with the crew at the pier, then dinner at the food trucks at a junction down the road. The trucks are the best option in Papeete as it is expensive most other places. We shared a steak, chicken, raw marinated fish and a Russian salad (potato and beetroot).
