After breakfast, we hit the road. We made a stop at Omar’s house for tea. Marie and Kristina went outside to chat with some of the local girls.
En route to Qalansiyah in the west, we passed a lot of Dragon Blood trees. The route then took us via a wadi and an oasis.

Arriving in Qalansiyah was exciting. Lots of flat white sand with the turqouise sea beyond.
With the low tide, we had to walk a long way through a lagoon of trapped shallow water before we could get anywhere swimmable. But it was so beautiful, how could anyone not enjoy it. We saw lots of crabs and a yellow-and-black ray.
For a change, our tents were set up for us here. Instead of the usual double tents, we had four individual ones (capable of housing two people cosily).
