I’m starting to lose my French friends today, starting with Lou this morning (and Marie tomorrow).
Today I decided to revisit the icon of Sana’a which is the old Imam’s Palace at Wadi Dhahr. I was quite happy to play host and take Solveigh (from Norway) with me. As with last time, we stopped at a lookout point to appreciate the vast valley before arriving at the actual site.

Solveigh and I went into the palace, Dar Al Hajar, for a visit and to appreciate the vista from there.

I love this site not just for the building but the bara’a (janbiyah/dagger dance) normally takes place on Friday. I couldn’t be more disappointed today as a large Red Bull canopy had been erected in the area where locals do the bara’a.
It was made such a hideous backdrop and ruined most of the photos I took of the locals. I hate Red Bull! Perhaps you’ll care to enjoy better photos from my previous visit about one year ago.
