I arrived into Hong Kong at 0645 in very good shape … the dryness of the aircraft cabin must be good for the sinuses … no more jaw-ache. By late morning, I was feeling pretty miserable again … I could hardly open my mouth due to the pain in my upper jaw.
This has to be a day of rest, relaxation, dosing up with medication … so I treated myself to some comfort food and a massage. Then after two naps, I felt fine again … up and down like a yoyo.
For this short overnight I’m staying at Chungking Mansion, home to many budget hostels. Mine is called Garden Hostel Flat C5. The tiny air-conditioned room with private bathroom is adequate for this short stay and my much-needed rest.
It’s not nice to travel when uwell. As Hong Kong is a famliar city to me, there’s no pressure with sight-seeing. I can just rest. And fortunately, I haven’t got very long “on the road” before I’m with family in Kuching on the Malaysian side of the island of Borneo.
