We only had a couple of hours in the morning to check-out the sights of Nassau before flying to Havana at 1245. The feel is a strange mix of Caribbean, British and American. Cars are equipped with either right or left hand drive, but all drive on the British side of the road.
We didn’t have time to check out the casinos or resorts … maybe on the return stopover.
It was a 1h45 flight with Bahamasair on a Dash-8 to Havana. We had booked a homestay called Casa Novo run by a doctor and his family. He gets access to the internet at work to enable online booking of his homestay, otherwise it wouldn’t be possible as internet pricing is prohibitive here. More on that later.
