After a large part of the day in Camaguey, including an interesting visit to the doctor for Kim, we moved on. We travelled by a Viazul bus from at 1630 Camaguey in the afternoon, bound for Sancti Spiritus. This ride, along with other bus trips were booked online via the Viazul bus company website. With a journey time of 3h50, we got there mid-evening.
Cubans ask why we’d want to visit Sancti Spiritus. Apparently there’s nothing to do here. The guidebook said is a good laid back place that should be more touristed. It does break the overland journey from Camaguey to our next destination Trinidad.
Strangely it was the first Cuba town or city which we’ve seen with any form of commercial centre! Not that we had seen many Cuban places.
