We took a shared taxi down to Aden in the afternoon … the port city was part of the British empire and has a very different feel from the highland. Somewhat more liberal, in a very relative sense. We joked that it is a little piece of Britain.
Most foreigners come down from Sana’a for beer and beach. Last trip, we went to the Sailor’s Club where they were bellydancers, beer, Somalian prostitutes … inconceivable in Sana’a. This time we are just having a quiet lookaround.
