I travelled up the coast further today by bus (changing at Gangneung). The weather clouded over then started to spit. It is miserable and wet … but at least it isn’t cold or windy … maybe not yet.
Sokcho is in the north-east corner of South Korea. There used to be ferries from here to Vladivostok and some road signs leading to the port area are in Russian as well.
I’m staying at The House Hostel in a private room. It’s a lovely artsy cutesy place.
I’m supposed to be going up to Mount Seorak National Park tomorrow. I think it won’t be very enjoyable and the outing will be curtailed slightly.
- Sokcho Harbour on a miserable there; there used to be ferries to Vladivostok.
- And also dried seafood.
