I woke early and saw the sunrise over the sea and my fruit-and-muesli. It was then a short ride to Balohan port to Banda Aceh where I tried to visit the Tsunami Museum which I missed last year. Sadly it was closed being Friday.
That meant that I had a bit of time to kill at the airport for my flight 1305 AirAsia flight to Kuala Lumpur.
I look forward to coming back to Indonesia (specifically Komodo) in a few months. The people are poor and but they are almost always kind, hospitable and take great pride in their jobs.
There are always signs that there isn’t much money around, eg. People buying one stick of cigarette, cafes don’t hold stock of produce but buy it when you order your food.
Time passed reasonably quickly at Banda Aceh airport and I landed in KL at 1535. I ran into a long-lost fried Thomas while in the taxi queue at KL Sentral. We had a lovely catch up. What a chance encounter!
