After a two-night stay in Downham Market with my brother-in-law, I have an evening flight to Munich for a 22h nightstop. Lufthansa like most good old-fashioned airlines consider any flight connection less than 24h to be a transit (rather than a stopover) and is free-of-charge … anything longer is only permitted on a more expensive fare.
It gets better. I’ll be doing the same on the return journey … except that the stop will be 23h55!! I feel quite clever!
On these two stops, I look forward to catching up with two friends in Munich and an excursion out of town.
My Lufthansa flight from Heathrow departed at 2005 getting me to Munich at 2255. The airport was connected to the city by train which enabled me to reach Wombats City Hostel relatively easily.
