We travelled from Berat to Vlore (2.5h) to connect on to Vuno (1.5h), where we stayed in its local school. The school (Shkolla Vuno) is closed for summer (or in the last couple of years for the whole year due to lack of kids), when it is converted into airbed dorms. It is run by the Albanian Outdoor Association and also allows campings.
The site overlooks the sea and the white cliffs of Corfu over in Greece. The clean squat toilets are accessed by cobbled steps down the hill. A lamp is kept in the kitchen to allow safe passage at night.
A store/cafe is located in the town above and is accessed by cobbled steps up the hill.
