We had chosen the 1730 flight to Hanoi to avoid an early wake-up. The day went pretty quickly with a walk around town, checking-out, a massage and late lunch before using the shuttle to the airport. The shuttle at VND40,000 per person was a great deal as taxi would have been rather pricey with the 30km distance.
Check-in was quick and easy but with bad weather, our flight was delayed. The incoming was diverted to Nha Trang to sit out the rain.
As it was around dinner time, we grabbed a bite at the airport shop which doubled as a cafeteria of sorts where we encountered the biggest rip-off this trip. Instant noodles from a packet emptied into a nice porcelain bowl was VND15,000 – but instant cup noodles (the variety which is served in the plastic container) was about double that. Go figure!
We eventually took of at 2010 for the 1h40 minute journey to Hanoi.
