Staying on Pulau Kri at Koranu Fyak homestay, I made two dives with their dive shop, the Wobbegong Dive Centre. It was a much needed affordable homestay and dive centre.
After breakfast, I fitted my gear. They didn’t have a good range of sizes of wetsuits and most were rather small for me and the other divers. Otherwise, all equipment were in reasonably good.
- First dive was at Yenbuba near the long jetty of Kampung Yenbuba (which I have accessed from mainland Waiwo two days ago). The most remarkable part of the dive was the fan coral which in one part stretched for as far the eyes can see, in all directions. Other coral was good too. I also saw turtles, sharks, Napoleons, batfish, pufferfish, some nudibranches and a giant clam.
- Second dive was at Kho Island. Again the coral in general was very good and the sea life sighted was similar to the first dive.
Visibility at neither place wasn’t great at only about 15m. The sea-life was good by most standards but the coral was excellent. And that made it an enjoyable day.
The divemaster Mathias was good with pointing things out without disturbing the creatures.
