We had overnighted in Norwich last night after the wedding party. A full buffet English breakfast was served at 0800.
We left around 1000 back to Downham Market for a brief stop before continuing to Cambridge to meet Jerome and Floriane, whom I travelled with in Java a few years ago. Unfortunately we couldn’t time it right; Anais was here a couple of weeks ago.
Jerome in studying for his PhD in nanotechnology at Cambridge. As he had inside knowledge, he showed us (and his brother Dominique, visiting from Switzerland) around St John’s College (via the back entrance). I was surprised to find so much open lawn and modern buildings hidden by the historic facade.
We grabbed a drink at Bill’s (a chain cafe which looked very atmospheric and one-off) and Floriane turned up to join us.
