I had a day to chill today, catch up with some admin and make some forward travel arrangements. I had seen all that I wanted to see today, in a somewhat shallow way. I needed a rest.
Kim on the other hand went to Autoworld and the Air Museum and he enjoyed both very much.
In terms of a short break in Belgium, I would recommend 1d/2n in Brugge and likewise in Brussels as a minimum. The former for its beautiful old town and Brussels for its old centre and eating. I enjoyed everywhere else that I spent time in and could have happily filled occupied myself if I had more time.
Given another chance, I’d like to take a deeper understanding into Belgian’s Flemish vs French issues. There seems to be very little holding the country together, from the people I’ve spoken to.
While geographically, the French are in the south and the Flemish north, it gets complicated with Brussels (80% French area according to Wikipedia) being stuck in the largely Flemish north.
