The 7h30 flight went pretty quickly with a great meal, some comedies, reading and pre-landing supper. As it turned out, we arrived 30 minutes early.
Disembarking, I looked out for an international transfer desk which I could utilise when I fly CCK-PER-KUL and XCH-PER-AKL later in the trip. Worse than that, there wasn’t even a proper international transfer route (let alone a desk). There was a door with a sign and an intercom; I had read that such transfers are only available on the same ticket for specific connections.
With no checked-in luggage, I exited the airport very quickly as there were no queues. Stepping out of the terminal I thought I had missed the bus into the city. It departs at ten past the hour at this time of night. It was 21:15; sigh. I saw some people waiting but not sure whether they were city-bound or wanting to go to the domestic terminal.
Luckily for me, the bus turned up shortly after. Within about 25 minutes I was at the Hay Street Travellers’ Lodge. The PIN for the key-safe worked fine and I was pleased to be in my private room (with bathroom but not toilet) within the hostel.
