Upon landing in Sydney, I took the train to Central where I had booked a capsule at Space Q. It was like Star Wars in my little capsule. As it was late in autumn, the day was getting short and cool.
I put some effort in planning my travels so that I’m in places for special events. But sometimes special events which I’ve never heard of, like Vivid Sydney, just happen to find me.
Many of the city’s buildings are lit up with moving projections and there are plenty of artistic installations created with light and colour.
The Captain Cook harbour cruise to see the lights was surprisingly cheap by Sydney standards at AUD25 but no one even looked at my ticket. Anyone could have just walked on!
Walking back to my capsule around 2130, Sydney’s streets were surprisingly deserted. Most of the action seems concentrated at the Darling Harbour and Chinatown area.
