For an introvert, lockdown wasn’t too difficult. All businesses except for essential services were closed. Practically it was only supermarkets that were open. No cafe, takeaways.
OK, it was a hassle to not have a fallback to eat out. I’m pretty good with cooking. I did miss my gym, yoga and swimming. I enjoyed the extra time I had and used most of it to do chores that were long overdue.
When the weather turned bad on certain days, I did think “I wish I could take-off somewhere” (like I normally do). Then the reality hits me. Borders are closed and there are hardly any flights domestically or internationally in most parts of the world.
New Zealand is probably more disconnected than most places. Really, there are few places that are as good as New Zealand just right now. And
I’m lucky to be alive, healthy and comfortable.
