Over a month ago I was reviewing my domestic travel plans as Covid-19 cases had jumped to 260 on 1 October. I thought hell had broken loose a couple of weeks ago when it reached 871 on 18 October.
Well, today hell had broken even looser when it reached 1755 cases with a large proportion of that being in Sabah, and within Sabah a large portion within prisons or detention centres for illegal immigrants.
However, luckily where I am in Sarawak state, things are operating at the new normal as the state government had nearly closed off the inter-state borders and requiring incoming passengers to quarantine in hotels for 2 weeks. In my hometown of Kuching itself, there had been cases ranging from 7 to 16 per day but contact tracing and testing here is very thorough.
