With damp and changeable weather, I deferred my sight-seeing plans and went to the supermarket. I got some canned tuna, tomatoes, cucumber and a fake baguette for my next few meals. Supermarket baguettes in New Zealand are just ordinary bread in a different shape. But it was probably still the best choice as I wouldn’t be able to finish a whole loaf or bag of the alternative breads.
I booked a massage with Nigel, a masseur from Auckland holidaying here, for NZD50. It was a steal at that price. It was also a relaxing style massage, different from the strong ones I normally subject myself to. [Edit: I realised on my last day that we had a common good friend in Auckland.]
Fortunately, the weather improved in the later part of the day and I was able to utilise the pool for a cool dip.
