Above: My car, now sold.
With daylight saving time still in our system, we woke early and Kim dropped me off at Christchurch airport about 0745. Despite being on standby, the kiosk issued me a boarding pass for the 0900 flight straight away.
Landing at 1025, I collected my car and took it through the carwash in preparation for a prospective buyer. After getting a few groceries, I went home briefly before picking Kim up from Auckland airport when he landed at 1255.
We met the prospective buyer in Manukau City straight after. The place was crazy busy and the lady was apprehensive about driving there. We found a large carpark where she safely tested the car and decided that it was the right car for her.
She came home with us, transferred the money and we completed the change of ownership online. I’m no car-less. I had picked up the car on 1 December 2010 when I was released from Covid-10 quarantine upon my return from Malaysia. Four months later, I’ve sold it for only NZD50 less despite having had plenty of use. Kim had other ideas for my next vehicle.
After the car sale, Kim had to rush away to show his boat to prospective buyers. There was a lot of pressure for us to get back to Auckland promptly for this busy day and fortunately everything worked out.
