Apartment hunting with friends
The weather turned wet and gloomy yesterday, so we didn’t do any of our possible outdoor activities like taking drives, walks or go whale-watching. Instead, we backtracked a little south to shop at Costco.
We started the day with a walk along the waterfront at Maroochydore’s Cotton Tree area. During our previous visits, we had toyed with the idea of buying an apartment here. We looked at some properties through the windows at agencies there.
We went back to Paul & Vanessa’s for morning tea with a friend Marilyn before continuing our hunt for a property afterwards. We saw one that we liked at the Cosmopolitan where Paul had managed the construction.
After lunch at the Alexandra Heads Surf Club we drove south to Caloundra to see Kim’s friend who keeps military memorabilia.
Covid-19 Update
In the evening, we heard through the news that the travel bubble between Australia and New Zealand has been suspended for three days. With deteriorating conditions in New South Wales, the New Zealand government had imposed a blanket total suspension across all states while they re-assess the risk. It’s quite a change from the state-by-state approach.
I was glad that Kim was here with me. My big worry was that I would be here and he would be stuck in New Zealand. The car booking was in his name and my/our travel plans would be in ruins. A lot changes within the space of two days.
