Above: Lovely home of my hosts.
As we’re now further west in the time zone compared to Italy, the sun rises later around 0800. It sets around the same time as where I had come from in Italy around 1700 with shorter daylight hours due to the more northerly location.
After the constant walking and sightseeing in Cyprus and Italy it was nice to stay put and relax. I even slept in, which wasn’t difficult as the sun rises much later than in Italy, being a little more west in the same time zone.
As the weather had been quite nice yesterday, I helped my hosts rake all the fallen autumn leaves from the front of their house and gave Riccardo a massage. I also went out for a countryside walk with him which would turn out to be a daily affair during my three-day stay.
Lou needed to go out to the supermarket and we went to the one in Chateau Reynard which had an old castle (they’re everywhere). It was his turn for a massage but he was busy with some work and offered the chance to Riccardo.

The internet at their home had stopped working and wasn’t due to be fixed until after my departure. My roaming package on my Indonesian SIM card proved to be a life-saver. I hadn’t touched much of my 10GB datapack (for 30 days at IDR450000). So finally, the purchased proved its worth.
We had dinner at Saskia’s place some 30 mins by car. She was one of those people that I took an instant liking to, with a big smile and a cheerful personality. She was also super interesting having done a seven-month horse-trek from south to north through Argentina. When she mentioned that at that time 1 Peso was equivalent to 1 USD, I immediately knew it was around 2000 when I first visited Argentina.
Saskia, from Hamburg, had a sauna outside the house which we all used, along with his new partner Joseph from the USA.
The meal, as with the meals at Lou and Riccardo’s, were on the oily side and not high on vegetable content. Portions are small though but filling. Despite that, everyone stays trim. Saskia in particular was skinny.
It turned out to be a late night as the others had additional rounds in the sauna and we got back home after midnight.
