Above: My favourite laksa shop was closed today and I had to make do from another place that wasn’t as good.
I moved from the beach to George Town today for several reasons. To save on an early wake-up at Batu Ferringhi, for more local food and for a cheaper hotel.
To make the most of the relatively expensive resort hotel, I had every intention of having a morning swim and a lie-down by the pool. But the weather was gloomy and I made use of the air-con in the room instead.
I took the bus around 1100 from Batu Ferringhi to the city and walked to the Kimberley Hotel. Their check-in is officially 1500 so I went to my favourite laksa shop to find that it is closed on Wednesdays. I had to settle for another one which wasn’t as good. With time to kill, I went to the New World food court to scout out dinner options.
I finished at the Prangin Mall where I checked out some phone models in case I want to replace mine in the near future, then had a very good strong massage.
After doing some work on the computer in my room, I had a reflexology at the blind outlet next door.
I returned to the New World food court for a multi-part snacky dinner and managed to find the elusive nutmeg juice nearbs It had been highly recommended so I was a little disappointed it’s just a cordial.
