It’s an easy day today, moving ourselves from Gozo back to Valletta. First up was the 1000 bus to Victoria, followed the 1045 ferry to Valletta. That tight connection was very easy and there was no stress at all.
Once in Valletta, we were going to take the lift from sea level up to the city level. However, once we saw the queue waiting to pay for the ticket and then the queue for the lift (one was inoperable), we decided to walk up.
We had our hearts set on a ftira (Maltese bread) sandwich in the food hall but managed to find another place in the pedestrian mall. It was so good that we had to have a second.
We had booked the Valletta Kursara Port View apartment again for this one-night stay. We rested indoors till the afternoon then went out to try walk up an appetite.
Due to the big lunch, we couldn’t really get hungry. We settled on sharing a Caesar Salad and then followed up with a repeat of the McDonald’s apple pie. This time we chose to ate in and ordered a snow freeze to go with it. What a delicious combination.
There was a concert going on in the street near us, perhaps for upcoming St Dominic’s Day. We stayed a while to try listen to the music but there was too many speeches in between so we retired back to our room.
Tonight concludes our big trip for tomorrow, we fly to Singapore and then head our separate ways to Kuching and Auckland.
