Time in hometown

I’m approaching the end of my stay in Kuching.  This time it is a little different as I’ve given my up my apartment for eight of the ten nights to family visiting from Birmingham.  I’m camping with my brother, sleeping on the mattress in the living room without aircon and having cold showers.

During the stay:

    • I met with two land agents to check on the possibility of selling land that I had inherited.
    • My stepfather passed away on Friday 11 August 2023 early in the morning. I went to say my goodbye to him in the funeral parlour that afternoon as I won’t be at his funeral mass.
    • My houseguests were very independent with their explorations but tonight I went to the Siniawan Night Market with them.
    • I met up with friends a few times to eat and drink. To counter that, I went to the gym three times to prepare myself for a more disciplined life once back in Auckland.
    • I fought off slight niggles with sore throat, sinus and coughing which began as we were boarding in Malta.  Some of my visitors from Birmingham appear to have the same symptoms as did one of my local brothers and his daughter.
