It didn’t feel like I had slept after my inflight dinner but because time didn’t drag on, I must have dozed slightly. My slight sinus and cough from the previous days appear to have eased but the dry cabin air had given me a sore throat.
I appear to have come a full circle as the sore throat was the first inkling that I had caught something, while boarding in Malta for Istanbul and Singapore some 11 days ago.
We landed 15 mins behind our 0815 arrival time. The airport arrival hall was deserted and with no bag, I was amongst the first to exit the secure area even thought I was seated midship.
I was out within 10 mins of disembarkation, which is really just walking time from the “new” pier at the international terminal.
The downside of not being held up by queues was that I had to wait for Kim to arrive at the airport, due to his drive in rush hour.
I had mixed feelings about arriving back in winter after over seven weeks of summer. No doubt, I’ll settle back into the reality of Home Sweet Home in a couple of days.
