As we descended into Tokyo Narita, I thought I caught a glimpse of a large white peak from the port side window. Fuji, I thought? Sunset was around 1630 in the area and it was pretty dark already.
The pilot came on to give his landing announcement, partially in Japanese. We landed around 1725, some 30 mins behind schedule.
With Japanese efficiency, I was out in about 30 mins of touchdown! That’s despite a long walk from the gate. I missed the Keisei train to Narita station by seconds and had to wait 15 mins for the next one.
I reached the Meet Inn (where I stayed about 5 months ago) around 1840. Alice was already there but we just kept in touch by messaging only. I grabbed a sandwich before retiring around 2000. It seems strange that after not having been to Japan for years, I come twice this year … and even stay in the same hotel.
