Despite the lightning strike which put the flight on hold briefly, we landed at Auckland about 30 mins ahead of the scheduled time of 0940.
This was when we lost our gain. The airbridge operator had trouble with the airbridge and after some time trying, had to get an engineer. After about 30 mins, the door was open for us to disembark.
The silver lining was that our luggage was already on the conveyor, or in my case, off the conveyor as it was too full with all the bags!
It was a good day with the agricultural quarantine service and I walked straight through for my ride home. Auckland has had a good summer so far (unlike last summer) and I finished my day with ride and light dinner in Kim’s boat in the harbour with his sister.
