Arrival into Melbourne was as good as it can get. We had probably the nearest gate to the immigration hall. All formalities were so fast that I was kerbside waiting for the Skybus within 20 mins of arrival.
With the 2245 scheduled arrival, I couldn’t afford any delay of more than an hour as I would miss the last tram to my aunt’s place where I was staying.
I had originally booked my flight for yesterday afternoon but when it got rescheduled to the night, I asked to postpone by a day. Yesterday, being Thursday, I could miss the last tram by minutes but being Friday tonight, they keep running for an extra hour.
The Skybus connected well to the night tram to Mont Albert. The tram was going so fast in the suburbs I would have missed my stop if no one else had rang the stop-bell.
Aunt had stayed up for me when I arrived a little after 0100. We had a nice chat before I retired at 0200.
